Born in Trieste, Italy, Ilaria Zanetti started to sing at the age of 15 and graduated from the Conservatorio “G. Tartini” of Trieste. Afterwards she studied with Luciana Serra, Eleonora Jankovic and William Matteuzzi. She also graduated in Physics at the University of Trieste.

Her repertoir ranges from Baroque to Contemporary music and Operetta. She has sung different roles such as Norina (Don Pasquale), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Despina (Così fan tutte), Sofia (Il Signor Bruschino), Lucieta (I quatro rusteghi) and Rosina (Opera Bestiale by A. Taraballa), in Italian theatres such as Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza, Teatro Goldoni in Livorno, Teatro del Giglio in Lucca, Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Teatro Comunale di Modena, and abroad (Austria, Brasil, France...) She also has experience acting, appearing on stage in two productions of the Teatro Stabile del Friuli Venezia Giulia.

In 2009 she sang the role of Bellezza in “Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno” by Händel for Opera Fringe Festival in DownPatrick (Northern Ireland). At Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Trieste she sang Mrs Gobineau in “The Medium” by G. Menotti, Nella in “Gianni Schicchi”, Berta in “Il barbiere di Siviglia” (Seasons 2009/10, 2010/11, 2011/12). In 2013 she sang the roles of La rossa and Principessa Elisa in “Madame Sans-Gêne” at Festival de Radio France et Montpellier.

She recorded “Orfeo” and “Incoronazione di Poppea” by Monteverdi for Brilliant Classics and Händel’s mottettos for Classic Voice.
